Hope for Nature Kids

Hello Wonderful Friends!

We're so excited to share a little bit about how we're making learning about nature absolutely magical for children right here in Liberia! Imagine vibrant dances that tell stories of our beautiful forests, rivers, and the amazing creatures that call them home. That's exactly what we do at Hope for Nature Kids!

Our Unique Way of Learning

We’ve found that the best way for young hearts and minds to truly connect with nature is through the joy of movement and the power of stories. We weave lessons about biodiversity, like caring for our water sources, wetlands, and respecting wildlife, directly into traditional Liberian dance and captivating storytelling sessions. It’s not just about remembering facts; it’s about *feeling* the importance of our natural world and wanting to protect it. We’ve seen firsthand how this approach leads to wonderful outcomes – children remember what they learn so much better, and they get incredibly excited to participate in our activities!

A Glimpse into Our Six Anniversary Ceremony

Just recently, we had a fantastic sixth-anniversary celebration, where our children told wonderful stories about wetlands conservation through a lively dance and storytelling. They pretended to be amphibians (frogs) and fish, then polluted the rivers, which became clean again for happy fish and frogs! It was pure joy and so much learning happening at once.

One of our beloved training officers, Mrs. Tiawon, shared, 'I’ve never seen my kids so engaged! They understood the importance of wetland preservation, not just from a book, but through dance and storytelling. Their participation has soared!'

This is the magic we aim to create every day – fostering a deep love and respect for our environment in a way that’s fun and meaningful for every child.

Hope for Nature Kids is dedicated to nurturing children's love for the environment. We provide educational programs and hands-on activities that inspire young minds to protect nature.

CELEBRATING SIX YEARS OF CONSERVATION!
A Grand Day in Duport Road

March 2026 | Edition-1

A Message from Our Executive Director

What a day it was! On Saturday, March 7, 2026, we came together with our community to celebrate a special milestone: Six years of HNKids. It was a day filled with joy, unity, and a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

From the energy of our Grand Parade to the inspiring words of our guests, the anniversary was a beautiful reflection of the partnerships that make our work possible. We walked, we celebrated, and we recommitted ourselves to protecting Liberia’s precious environment for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who marched with us and cheered us on. This anniversary belongs to you!

March 7, 2026: A Day to Remember

The celebration kicked off under the bright Saturday sun at the Duport Road Shara Community Football Pitch. Our staff, volunteers, and local supporters—young and old—gathered in high spirits, ready to make some noise for conservation.

With banners held high and voices raised in song, the Grand Parade moved through the heart of Duport Road. It was a joyful spectacle that brought residents out of their homes to see what the excitement was about. The parade wound its way through the community, culminating at the historic Duport Road Memorial, where the official program was held.

The atmosphere at the memorial was electric. It wasn't just a gathering; it was a family reunion of everyone who believes in a greener Liberia.

Distinguished Guests & Community Support:

We were deeply honored by the presence of several distinguished guests who took time to celebrate with us. Their attendance shows the strength of our partnerships and the importance of our shared mission.

On the podium, we were graced by:

Deacon Joseph J. Tally, Former Deputy Managing Director for Operations at the Forestry Development Authority (FDA), delivered a powerful keynote address. Dr. Mary Molokwu-Odozi, Country Director of Fauna and Flora, Liberia; showing strong support from our international partners. Mr. Moses B. Kollie, Co-chair of the NGO Coalition of Liberia, and Mr. Richard Hoff, Program Manager of Champion for Nature Conservation (CNC-Liberia). Clergyman-Pastor Abel M. Jones, who offered prayers and spiritual guidance for our work ahead.

We also welcomed various government officials, local political figures, and members of the joint security forces, whose presence underscored the collaborative spirit needed to achieve lasting conservation. But most importantly, we were joined by the heart of HNkids—the wonderful people of the Duport Road community!
